In collaboration with its Cree partner, Mistay Enterprises, EBC is pleased to announce that its Mining division has received the Phase 2 mandate to deepen the Renard diamond mine’s ventilation shaft.
This flagship Stornoway Corp. project is about 250 km north of the Mistissini Cree community and 350 km north of Chibougamau in Northern Québec’s James Bay region.
EBC, the mine’s only subterranean contractor onsite, will work on the 290 to 490 metre levels. Phase 1 of the project, which went from 2016 to 2017, consisted in excavating the top 290 metres of the shaft.
The vertical shaft has ground support, a manway, piping and electrical cables installed in its 6.5-metre wide opening,
Mandated by Stornoway since 2016, EBC Mining is proud to have again been selected to continue the project.
