La Romaine 4 – Excavation and concreting of the temporary diversion

As part of the construction of the 1550 MW hydroelectric complex on the Romaine River, Hydro-Quebec granted EBC the contract for the excavation and concreting of the temporary diversion of La Romaine 4.

• Overburden excavation of both headrace and tailrace.
• Rock excavation of both headrace and tailrace by drill and blast.
• Excavation of the temporary diversion tunnel.
• Concreting of the portal.
• Construction of a 34.5 kV electrical distribution line.
• Construction and maintenance of roads and temporary boarding area.
