Réseau express métropolitain (REM)

NouvLR, joint venture in which EBC is part, was mandated by CDPQ to carry out engineering, procurement & construction of the new electrical and fully automated light rail transit network, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM). REM is the largest public transit project undertaken in Quebec in the last 50 years. Spanning 67 kilometres of double track and boasting 26 stations, it will connect with existing bus networks, commuter trains and three lines of the Montréal metro. Project represents:

  • 26 stations including 5 underground, 9 aerial, 12 ground stations and 2 maintenance centre
  • Several structures including 18 overpass, 8 aerial structures, 5 bridges and 2 pedestrian bridges
  • 67 km of rail
  • 14 new incentive parking lots
  • 2 tunnels including the excavation of a new one using a TBM-EPB and widening of a 5 km existing one
  • Various power supply and traction distribution works including 6 medium-voltage substations
  • A state-of-the-art project using a collaborative approach of Building Information Modelling ( BIM) in which we can carry out and visualize the design and construction on one integrated platform
