Redevelopment of the Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard and Henri-IV Highway (A-73) interchange

New mandates

By Johanne Laurin 1 August 2019

The Civil and Mining team has scored a hat trick by landing a third mandate related to the Henri-IV Highway (A-73), specifically the Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard interchange in Québec City.

The Ministère des Transports du Québec project consists in building overpasses, retaining walls and all associated work.

In Phase I, we will set up temporary structures (lighting, driving surfaces, drainage, excavation, and major signage), conduct structural work on bridges over Lorette River, Michelet Street and Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard, as well as reconstruct the permanent bypass in the Capitale/Henri-IV interchange. Phases II and III include replacing the bridge and ramp at the Wilfrid-Hamel crossroad and continuing repair work on various structures. The last phase will be devoted to Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard itself and marking the pavement.

Slated to run from August 2019 to September 2022, this major project on Henri-IV Highway will improve the safety and efficiency of the major artery which carries over 100,000 vehicles every day and will help ensure long term infrastructure viability.
