B1 Ambulatory Centre – CHUM

Construction of the B1 ambulatory center of the new University of Montreal Hospital Center (CHUM). The project includes 5 buildings that cover a total area of over 2,766,300 sq.ft. As an emblematic project of the 21st century in Quebec, the CHUM is the most important PPP project in Canadian history and is one of the most publicized projects in the history of construction in Quebec. The B1 Ambulatory Center building alone covers 645,800 sq. ft. It has 20 floors above ground and 4 underground levels. The building houses 772 single rooms, as well as operating rooms, emergency rooms, the sterilization center, the radiology services and the radiotherapy services. EBC acted as general contractor for the architectural and structural works and as construction manager for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing works. The installation of the medical equipment was also part of EBC’s mandate. EBC’s role consisted of supporting Collectif Santé Montréal (CSM) from the design phase to the delivery of the building.
