EBC is proud to have been appointed by Chenier Development Corp. to build a new nine-storey residential building located at 541-545 Rideau Street at the corner of Cobourg Street in Ottawa.
The first floor will be retail, including an amenity space for the residents, and the eight upper floors will house residential apartments, in this popular area of the city. Underground parking will occupy two levels, over the majority of the site to the property lines.
A total of 116 residential units and 1 commercial space is planned. The gross floor area will be 113,663 square feet, including parking. Silver LEED certified, the building will have a combination of masonry veneer and aluminum panels.
The redevelopment will also include a separate duplex residential unit. Certain decorative materials of an 1870’s house, without heritage designation, will be used to erect the duplex that will retain architectural features of the original building, to the delight of the neighborhood residents consulted by the developer.
The first building tenants are expected by the winter of 2020-2021.
