Cowansville Correctional Institution

Cowansville Correctional Institution is a medium security federal penitentiary. EBC was commissioned to construct 2 new housing buildings with a rated capacity of 96 per building, for a total of 192 new inmates. The new 2-storey building rests on concrete foundations, a slab-on-grade foundation and decking. The exterior cladding of the building is composed of pre-painted metal panels, curtain walls, and precast architectural concrete elements linked with dowels and anchors. The interior systems are made of steel and gypsum studs with roof slabs in prefabricated and prestressed hollow beams.
