La Romaine-3 | Headrace Excavation

• Contract for the excavation of the headrace tunnel and surge chamber. The lenght of all tunnels total approximatel 2.4 km.
• Blasting and excavation of the headrace tunnel (1,662 m long X 16 m wide and 12 m high), the access tunnel ( 12.5 m X 10 m) and drainage tunnels ( 3 m X 3 m).
• The Excavation of 2 underground penstocks (7 m Ø) and a 110 m long surge chamber, 28.5 m diameter on 45 m and its connecting gallery.
• The concreting of the penstock slabs as well as the supply and operation of a tunnel heating and ventilation system in artic weather conditions.
